aniMangaPOP convention

Hey guys! Yesterday I attended my first convention selling my artwork! It was super exciting and also nerve wrecking, it was a convention dedicated to Japanese culture, not really suited to the artwork I produce however, I enjoyed it! I made a fair few sales and it felt great when people were picking up my business card!

I attended the event with my friend who creates amazing work, see it here (:

My little table all set up (:

I got talking to some lovely people at the con, everyone was super lovely and supportive of each others work, it was such a lovely atmosphere. These are the cute items I purchased! The print is by Minty Kitty, she was so nice and the super adorable hair clip is from Jessica who was so wonderful! The Rilakkuma brush is super cute, not sure what it is for but I couldn't pass it up! I may use it as a highlighter brush!

I had so much fun, felt super supported from my friend who sat by me at the event and just the whole atmosphere (:

I can't wait to set up for the next one! Which will hopefully be soon!

Just to let you know, I put up some pocket mirrors on sale on my etsy! Please take a look! They're selling at £3.50 (:

Depop + update!

Good morning everyone!

First of all, great news! I'm now selling my prints on Depop! I'm absolutely in love with this app! If you're a fan of instagram then this is a great app for you!
The set up is the same as instagram but you sell and buy items just like ebay! It's brilliant!

So please feel free to follow or buy from my account: @pixiesmess

Notice anything different on the blog today? That's right! I've updated it a little bit! It's been the same for around 3 years now so felt like it needed a little change! It hasn't changed too much though!

In the next few weeks I have some reviews to post of products that I am loving! So keep coming back to the blog to check that out or you can follow me on my social networking sites (linked below) to keep up to date!

I'm also excited to announce that I'm going to university in September! I'll be studying illustration and I can't wait to start! I can't wait to be able to develop my skills and have better artwork in the near future!

Thank you for your support and believing in my work and I hope you're all enjoying the hot weather!

New prints available on my Etsy!

Hey guys, just to let you know, there are some new prints over at my Etsy store! They're £2.50 each and are 6"x4" this time round. They're of my digital work so had to be printed smaller to ensure good quality! I also have 1 cross stitch of Shaun of the Dead which comes in a black frame for £5! I'm really proud of that one, so if you're a Cornetto Trilogy fan you may want to snag that one up!

In the next week or so I will be throwing a Halloween give away! So keep your eyes pealed for that! :D

Practise makes perfect

I was going through my sketchbook the other day and came across old illustrations of cute girls that I used to come up with in my little mind tank, and I just thought "how could I make these look better?" I purchased a tablet around a year ago and used it once or twice, I must admit, it collected quite alot of dust! I found it so difficult to use and didn't want to go back to something that I found so hard!

Going through Tumblr, I'm always inspired by the artists I follow, who all use digital art as a medium, it was a spur of the moment thing and I just grabbed the tablet and started drawing over my old illustrations! And I'm very happy that I did! I can't get enough of drawing on the tablet now, it feels great. The way you can just change an illustration completely without seeing the old one is amazing! I'm very happy with the ones I have come up with and hope to continue to get better! Just need to work out how to get the girls onto backgrounds I've created! I hope you like anyway (:

These will be available on my Etsy soon! xo

ARTPOP

I've been working on the Halloween collection lately (which I have now set a deadline for! Eeep!) and decided to take a little break and have a go at digital art again. I was really inspired by some of the talented work I've seen lately and felt like having ago again after a few months, my tablet had collected a lot of dust! Oops!

I doodled a little sketch about a week a go of Lady Gaga, I used my sketch to then digitally colour.

Here's a little bit of the process that I posted on my Instagram;

(original sketch)

I'm pretty proud of it, this is my 3rd finished digital art piece, I'm finding it easier the more I practice and that's all you can ever do I guess (:

(6 posts away until a giveaway!)

Katy Perry Killer Queen makeup video

Hey dolls!

A few days ago I first saw Katy's new ad for her new fragrance 'Killer Queen' on the TV. I personally love the ad and can't stand the whole drama of "but Beyonce was a Queen in her video" blah blah blah, get over it, we can all be Queens!

The hair was amazing, and to be fair it did look like it was advertising some sort of hair product! But we can't blame Katy for having some amazing hair *cough* wigs!

I adored the makeup she had to complete the look, a very simple classic smokey eye with winged eyeliner and a red lip, here's my version in a video, hope you enjoy (:

Oh, and yes I have tried the 'Killer Queen' fragrance and I don't like it! ha! I'm going to stick to 'Purr'!

Within the next few weeks expect some Halloween looks! yay!

Outfit of the Day; Mickey Mouse!

Clothes;
Top - Topshop (not sure if still on sale!)
Shorts - Primark (£10)
Mickey Mouse - Primark (£3)

Hey guys! Just stopping by to show off these amazing tights! I'm so in love with them! I love anything Disney so these are so perfect. I must admit, Primark has really upped its game since the last time I went in there. These shorts are so cute too! They're high waisted so I had to get the next size up to get over my butt and now I'm left with this gap at the back! Do they not realise that women have butts and hips?!

I really wanted to show you guys my make up, the Lightscapade powder by MAC is amazing, but my face wasn't co-operating with the camera today! booooo

On a different note, I've been working on these Sparky clips, I've finished 5 of them and this is one of the finished ones, all hand made with clay and hand painted. Would anybody be interested if I sold them?

Have a great bank holiday! xo

Designing hoopla

Been very busy this easter designing for college, designing is possibly my weakest point, I find making a garment far easier, but, it has to be done! Part of me has enjoyed designing this time round, which is very nice indeedy!

As well as doing that I have been trying to sneak in a few illustrations when I want to take a break. My recent one (above) is of Allison Harvard (Creppy Chan)
I hope to sell my illustrations when college is over, I've been looking around at sites that print them for you and sell them but I want to find the best one, if you know any please comment below (:

Just to let you know, I do have hand-made ornaments up for sale on my etsy at the moment (:

Hopefully be more active on here when I start making garments and so on... xo

Working

I realise I haven't been posting for a while (try more than a month!) It's not that I've been busy, well, I have been because of work and college, to be honest, I have been feeling so uninspired lately that it has gotten on top of me.
I'm trying to shake off this funk and get back into drawing, so here's what I did recently:

I drew this on a train and finished it off at my partner's house, I used pencil, colour pencils and fine line.

I've created a few more illustrations which I hope to get printed soon!

I began drawing this piece months ago, the detail of the photo is immense and I know it's going to take me forever to draw, I'm currently working on it now to get it finished soon.

I'm really sorry for my absence and I really hope to get back into the swing of blogging again!

Thank you so much for you continuous support, I really appreciate messages I receive, they make me so happy and inspire me to keep going xo

You can follow me on tumblr if you wish (:

you built up a world of magic...

I've started a new personal project called 'you built up a world of magic'
it's a Paramore lyric that I love. I painted my art room the colour of Paramore's third album. I wanted to hang up frames on my wall like the album cover. Then I came up with this idea to paint some illustrations on my walls instead.
So what I'm going to do is paint (in my style) woodland creatures, all cute and cuddly (:
Then I'm hoping to paint the lyric on the wall. I'll keep you up to date with this project, I'm really excited about it!

I started today with a baby fawn;

(sorry the photo's suck. It's night time as I'm posting this and I have no window in this room)

I love her. She took around 5 hours to complete. This is all done in acrylic. Here's what I'm hoping to start painting tomorrow;

two foxes kissing, aww (:

I can't wait to start! xx

I've been making sugar skulls for my shop, I can't wait for them to be dry and get them painted (:

I have a few more paintings to finish then I shall start selling! So close! eeep!

hope you're all having a great summer (: xo

scrapbooking and autumn

I'm so excited for autumn! Apart from summer it's my favourite season. I love the indie style that is inspired by the season and cute, quirky accessories that come with it! I found a beautiful vintage suitcase today that i'm hoping to get soon! I hope to get it before I go away to Cardiff in november (:

Yesterday I met some amazing people and i'm really excited to start this new journey in my life. I'm hoping that I can start selling my products around january/febuary time.
..

To organize my days I bought a new diary today, I had such a hard time choosing as everything was so cute! I ended up with cupcakes, you can never
go wrong with them!

i know, cute right?

Also bought Rolling Stone, Katy Perry is one fine lady...

i've admired her style for a while, well, since she started. i love her obsession with cute fruit and anything with faces on. she's just everything you'd expect a pop star to be but she's also intelligent.

here's the front cover of my scrapbook, i'm really excited to finish it (:

there's more sneak peaks on my deviant. plus a new painting!: http://twiggy-3.deviantart.com/

have a lovely week! xo
